Tricksy are performing second.

Tricksy is the derby-inspired project created by Julie Clark in 2009. After seeing her first flat track roller derby bout in 2008, Julie became obsessed/inspired by all things roller derby. It was then that Julie came out of retirement as a musician and founded her own band. Julie started her music career in Atlanta in the early 90's and was soon touring with the likes of Wendy Bucklew and Lift as a bass player and backing vocalist. It was in 1998 when she was tapped by Shawn Mullins to play bass in promotion of his new self-released (now Platinum) record. She has shared the stage with the Indigo Girls, Chris Isaak and Hootie and the Blowfish and has made appearances on the Tonight Show, the Rosie O'Donnell Show, VH1's Hard Rock Live and television appearances all over western Europe.

This road tested veteran now seeks to blaze her own unique trail with her new band by bringing a more aggressive sound than her previous projects. Tricksy's songs are irreverent, humorous and hard-edged with no apologies offered. Tricksy has enlisted the help of former Cogburns frontman, Glenn Kuras on guitar, Flat Cat guitarist, Amy Rollinson, Former Mulva Twitch bassist, Michael Smitherman and the hard-hitting Mark Trouse on drums.

Tricksy seeks to embody the sights, sounds and attitude of the modern roller derby. If ever a sport screamed for its own soundtrack, roller derby is that sport and Tricksy aims to provide the music.

Lace up your skates and get ready for some hard hitting sounds!

Pink Pompeii will be opening the show.

“I'm no music critic by any stretch so don't expect that out of this review but what an enjoyable journey listening to this album was! Pink Pompeii (the group) has a sound that ranges around and doesn't want to fit in to a genre. The tunes range around a variety of styles, some are dance tracks, some are gothy, some a little punky, some more rock. All of them sound like the musicians are just enjoying what they do which is refreshing from some of the mass produced stuff out there where they just phone it in.

I think my favorite track out of the set was JF Sebastion which was so full of pathos that I could barely stand it. Almost all of the songs have gotten stuck in my head at some point and I haven't gotten tired of listening to any of them and I usually get bored pretty quickly.

The snippets here on Amazon do a fairly good job of representing the tracks (as good as a snippet can). So give a listen and see if it appeals to you. Music is such a personal thing it's kinda pointless to say much more than that.

Great vocals, awesome beat, cool cello, amazing musicality, lyrics that draw you in. What's not to like? Five stars!” – Jay / Amazon.com user review of "De Riguer” - Pink Pompeii's debut release
