Black Lodge who will be closing.

"Either way, the group pulled off a distinctively dark and murky pop sound that hints at a strong atmosphere that’s billowing in their songs — the kind of aural essence that this kind of music demands in order to rise above crushed velvet clichés." - Chad Radford / Creative Loafing Atlanta

"DC-based troubadour Alex Vans creates a unique, shape-shifting blend of rock, folk and pop. His recent self-titled EP is lived in, warm and yet minimalistic, shaped by the hands of a master song-craftsman and high-burnished by the lungs of one of the Capital's most promising young vocalists." - -Blake Warenik, July 2010

Waking The Bates will be performing first.

"Physically based in the bizarro world that is Atlanta, Georgia, and musically rooted in virtually anything and everything, Waking the Bates refuse to pin themselves down to one simplistic genre. While so many bands that don’t fit a specific mold are quick to state that they have a little something for everyone, Waking the Bates really does have something for every listener who enjoys soaring melodies, clever songwriting devices, and dynamics (all of which have been recently added to the musical endangered species list)." - Matt Donald

Qurious will be appearing at The Drunken Unicorn on Friday, February 8th

Qurious will be appearing at The Drunken Unicorn on Friday, February 8th, 2013.

Whether from headphones or on stage, one is inevitably caught spellbound. The siren-like vocals which lay atop the depths of keyboard/sample-based aural tapestries capture intellects and sway those fleshy physical forms into dance. With compositions as various and interesting as their subject matter, Qurious challenges audiences to follow them through the melodic looking-glass, venturing into a more cerebral listening experience.

Austin Archer will be performing at The Drunken Unicorn on February 6th

Austin Archer is performing at The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013

It all begins with a melody, simple on its first chance hearing, but like an idea it must be built upon — with Austin Archer those early movements that conceive a song soon take on an operatic sensibility as a human sense of dramatics are hushed in. Nothing is smoldered down or weakened, guitars marry to create a journey, a testament of human endurance of the complex notion to be comfortable and understand where one’s feet are standing. Haunting as much as hopeful, life as much as death, Austin Archer sets out to capture the life he sees and feels exists.

Evan Andree will be performing first.

“Atlanta’s one of those cities that you can be living in for years and rediscover something completely and shockingly new that’s right down the street tomorrow. This is one of the things that makes it so unique and totally underrated in the scope of US cities. Just like discovering a new neighborhood joint, hearing local acts you’ve never come across before is ultra refreshing. One of which is Marietta-native-now-Ponce-haunt Evan Andree who’s forward thinking indie electronic melodies are matched up perfectly with creative and thought-provoking lyrics. Luckily for us, we can pick up his tunes, which have been featured in international ad campaigns like Nike UK’s “Find Your Greatness,” for free on his Brite Revolution page. Evan’s got two EPs out: Flags and Flags Pt. II. I’ve got two of my favorite tracks from each EP below. ” - Bass Is My Boyfriend
