Pillage & Plunder is performing at the Music Room on Wednesday, October 26th

Pillage & Plunder will be performing at The Music Room on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011.

"Atlanta’s Pillage & Plunder have just released their debut record, a six-song EP entitled Look Inside for the Prize full of quirky, angular pop and rock that sounds like nothing else going on in this town right now. The EP’s second track, “Blue,” finds the band trading in off-kilter rhythms and bringing a brainy arithmetic approach to their songwriting that feels a little jarring and cluttered at first listen, but, ultimately, it works. The melodramatic vocals are a bit flamboyant for my taste (think Matthew Bellamy from Muse), but they’re never overbearing and the band’s idiosyncratic arrangements help keep things dynamic and interesting." - Moe Castro / Latest Disgrace

Faun & A Pan Flute will be the third performer of the evening.

In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.

You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,

but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.

...

Fish don't hold the sacred liquid in cups!
They swim the huge fluid freedom.

Tiny Victories are the second performer of the evening.

"Tiny Victories debut recording, Mr Bones, has arrived. A Brooklyn via Athens/DC duo, Greg Walters and Cason Kelly combine experimental electronics with earthy vocals, lush orchestration, elements of noise rock and live drums. The band builds simple songs out of complex pieces, which they best describe as “experimental pop.” Recommended for fans of LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, Parts & Labor, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fuck Buttons." - Charles Stepczyk / Insomnia Radio

Antbrain will be performing first.

"Got a nice note from Jiyoung telling me about her Atlanta-based music project. I’m a sucker for crunchy distortion layered on fun pop hooks and spunky lyrics. These guys would be great sharing a show with, say, Reading Rainbow, Eternal Summers or Cults." - YVYNYL
