Aaron wants a dog, and to not be in school anymore.
Grayson wants you to stop saying he's a little kid, he's not.
Gabe wants some Arden's Gardens.
Thomas wants the big room downstairs, and he's willing to pay for it.

The Levee will be performing before Shook Foil.

The Levee was birthed out of a need to create. Brandon Funk came to the table with 14 songs with the intention of recording an EP using only local talent out of Atlanta for everything it takes to make an album. After enlisting the help of Kyle Schumacher and Michael Stallings to help record his solo project, the three knew that they had something unique. The EP turned into an LP, and the solo project turned into a band, and after recently solidifying their line up with the addition of Tucker Richmond, The Levee released their debut full length on May 20, 2011.

Capillaries are releasing "Into The History Of Light" at The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, April 11th

Capillaries will be celebrating the release of the CD version of "Into The History Of Light" at The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012.

Capillaries is an instrumental band of four from Atlanta, GA. The music of Capillaries captures a dark history and remains willing to stay behind and investigate it. There are hints of ambience with a sense of immediacy driving it along. Noise and melody become unintended bedfellows. Bass-driven leads and non-traditional rhythms become the substratum for soaring guitars that take listeners to new heights just before pummeling them back into the earth.

Calm White Noise are performing before PacificUV and are ALSO celebrating the release of "EP 1"!

Very fresh to the Atlanta music scene is Calm White Noise. The band began to take life in the early months of 2011. Band leader and creator, Dylan Banks, gathered three of the best musicians in the Atlanta area (Ricky Taft, Bill Walker, Andre Griffin) to help turn his visions and ideas into a full functioning entity of marvelous sound waves.

Deku will be starting the show.

Brett Leggitt or "Deku" is an Atlanta producer who makes loop-based experimental downtempo electronic music. Being very fickle and constantly infatuated with some new sound, instrument, or technique results in the producer covering a wide palette of styles and genres. His self-described "primitive" methods give his music a unique texture and flavor all it's own.

Awesome New Republic (ANR) are RETURNING to the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, March 23rd

Awesome New Republic (ANR) are returning to The Drunken Unicorn on Friday, March 23rd, 2012.

ANR for short, which stands for Awesome New Republic (ie. a people's movement of astounding proportions). Active since 2004, with a steady amount of releases since, the band is comprised of guys from the northeast who met when they each made Miami their home 10+ years ago.

Awesome New Republic on Facebook

Plains will be performing before Awesome New Republic.

PLAINS is the brainchild of Michael McGinnis. Born and raised outside of Chicago, McGinnis began making his own music in earnest just a few years ago when he moved to Miami to sleep on couches and work as a studio rat. Spending endless late nights employing a healthy amount of bourbon and cycling through a few albums worth of songs, the album PLAINS was born.

Antbrain will be starting the show.

Antbrain plays their brand of rock music with a crooked smile. Audiences can't help but smile back as their ears get gently tickled by the fuzzy guitars, driving basslines and pummeling rhythms. Starting out as a sporadic recording project for guitarist Jiyoung Lee and bassist Dave Bonawits in 2008, the band discovered their true self when they added drummer Josh Hall in mid-2010. Since then they've been winning audiences over with their self described "slop-pop."

Poliça will be playing a show at The Drunken Unicorn on Tuesday, March 20th

Poliça are performing at The Drunken Unicorn on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012.

"Minneapolis-based group Poliça has been receiving buzz for a couple of reasons: The band’s roster includes two members of Gayngs (vocalist Channy Leaneagh and producer Ryan Olson), Bon Iver’s Mike Noyce threw down vocals on Poliça’s “Wandering Star” and “Lay Your Cards Out,” and Jay-Z liked the latter so much that he premiered it on his Life + Times lifestyle website. When Hova shines a spotlight on you, you know the pressure is on. And the band has responded with a debut album, mixed by Jim Eno from Spoon, of nearly 46 minutes of R&B-infused electro-pop with hammering drums, ethereal vocals, heady bass and supplemental emotional baggage." - Maria Sullivan / CMJ

Body Language are headlining The Basement on Monday, March 19th, 2012.

Busy saving the city from the brick wall arm crossing and the casual head nods, Brooklyn's own Body Language has risen from the DIY venue basements armed with the kinetic dynamite you would expect from the name. Their original music was born from weekly dance party remixes crafted by Grant Wheeler and Matt Young, and graced by the soul stylings of Ms. Angelica Bess.

Ava Luna will be performing before Body Language.

"Ava Luna is the Brooklyn buzz band that keeps on buzzing and rightfully so because they are pretty damn special. The Coney Island based septuplet (yes, there are indeed 7 of them and no, it’s not a ‘shoot the freak’ kind of thing) embody the phrase “neo soul.” But to give them the ubiquitous they sound like this band meets this band (Dirty Projectors and Jamiroquai) wouldn’t be doing them full justice. With doo-wops and well-rehearsed harmonies, this band seamlessly takes familiar musical worlds into new and exciting places." - Free Williamsburg

Ava Luna on Facebook

Jonquil will be performing second.

"Just try and listen to “Run” from Oxford, U.K., band Jonquil‘s new album and not feel like a champ. Or “Getaway”. Or “Swells”. Or hell, most any song on Point of Go. It’s hard to think of another indie pop record this thoroughly uplifting and bright since Vampire Weekend’s debut. They’re not a new band, but their first handful of releases flew by mostly unnoticed; how the hell have these guys not made a bigger splash in the indie web-o-sphere?" - Consequence Of Sound
